A neologism combining the Italian words "Violino" and "Chitarra", an excellent Austrian duo of two approved musicians and recognized teachers: Succeeding Helfried Fister and Daniela Hölbling on the violin, Johanna Bohnen and Johann Palier (guitar) now represent the Duo Violarra.
Concert tours took Fister/Palier to South Korea, England, Slovakia, Italy, Serbia, Poland, Slovenia and Germany.
Hölbling/Palier were very successful on musical journeys with concerts in Austria, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain and Denmark.

Johann Palier studied classical guitar at the Graz University of Music.
Laureat of the International Guitar Contest in Volos (Greece).
Assistant Professor at the Graz University of Music. Professor of guitar at the "Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatory" (State Conservatory) in Graz.
A great number of his students have been award winners of national and international guitar competitions.
Big success with popular music: "Opus – Live is life", "White Stars"; gold and platinum status records.
8 CDs: solo guitar and chamber music (recorder, flute and violin).
Recordings for radio and television and concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in many European, Asian and Central American countries.
Live performance of "Concierto de Aranjuez" with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Guatemala on the solo CD "Johann Palier ½ old - ½ new".
Jury member in numerous national and international guitar competitions.
Head of the International Guitar Festival at Monastery Seckau, Austria, held every year at the end of July.

Daniela Hölbling received her musical education in Austria and USA. (Degrees: Magistra artium with distinction and Master of Arts). She held a student assistantship at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz, Austria, and a graduate assistantship at Western Illinois University (IL), USA.
Daniela has played concerts all around Europe and the United States, where in the latter she served as the concert master of the Western Illiois University Symphony-Orchestra. She is a welcome guest at renowned music festivals and in various chamber music groups and a member of the symphony orchestra recreation - Großes Orchester Graz. Daniela has played concerts under famous conductors as Jordi Savall, Heinrich Schiff or Andrés Orozco-Estrada. She received important musical impulses from members of the Alban Berg Quartet, the Melos- and the Carmina-Quartet and from Stephan Schardt, concertmaster of Musica Antiqua Köln.
Daniela has been awarded a number of artistic and academic prizes: educational grant-prize for particularly gifted students of the state Carinthia, Austria; full graduate-assistant scholarship from Western Illinois University, USA; first prize in the Concerto Competition at Western Illinois University; support-prize of the Martha-Debelli-Foundation; Certificate of Academic Recognition from Wester Illinois University a.o.
Since 2016 Daniela has been head of a violin class at the "Johann-Joseph-Fux" State Conservatory Graz, Austria.

"Violarra – steirisch aufg´spielt ?!" is the live recording of a concert in the Florentinersaal (the concert hall of the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz). It exclusively contents music (some of which dedicated to Violarra) by contemporary Austrian composers.
